Frazer Haywood pre-locate antique barns and other timber buildings and can offer a variety of original & unique designs to suit a wide variety of uses.

As these will be considered as "new build" under planning regulations - and not subject to stringent conservation rules - we can adapt them in a multitude of ways to suit your needs.

We are happy to work with your architect in the planning stages to maximise the aesthetic appeal & practical uses of the building. After this, if you wish, we can help with the re-erection of the barn

Once we have found the barn, it is extensively photographed & video’d in its original state. We then asses the most suitable way to dismantle the barn.

Then we take laser levels of all the kingpins and mark them accordingly which will allow them to be reassembled in exactly the same position as they were, maximising the inherent strength in the building. Next, all the timbers are numbered while plans are drawn and measurements taken.

Detailed photographs are taken at all the key stages during deconstruction and notes will be made of the ideal sequence of reconstruction. Once all the frame has been dismantled, it will be refurbished using reclaimed oak where required to replacing any timbers that are not up to standard, cut to size & shape accordingly.

All our barns are sold without roofing or internal flooring but we would be happy to supply these - we will be happy to quote for this & re-erection on an individual basis.
